Bro. David Rankine

21 year old David Rankine, a South Orange, New Jersey native, affectionately known as ‘Jersey’ by his brothers, a student at Purdue University and member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. was in a severe car crash on May 18, 2012. David is an Aeronautical Engineering at this prestigious school. He lost control of his car, crashing, causing brain and back trauma, and several broken bones. His chapter brothers have to proceeded to raise a little over $11,000 for his family by selling t-shirts that say ‘Do It For Jersey’ with a space helmet on them. Johnathan Blair, president of Alpha Phi Alpha at Purdue, said the chapter was going to “be there for him so that he continues to push and continues to stay on track for recovery.”
